Prints: All prints are made on an archival, fine art matte, giclée paper with a high-quality fine art finish which helps keep the artwork untarnished from sun rays and time decay. The image goes to the edge of the paper unless otherwise requested with customer service.
Canvases: All canvases come stretched, gallery wrapped, on a .75 inch width frame and are ready to hang on the wall. The art will be mirror wrapped to preserve the front perspective of the piece. Please contact our customer service team if you would like to request a rolled canvas instead of a stretched canvas.
A message from the artist:
“NEVER put Mary, the VIRGIN in red” a kind well meaning grandma said as she walked by my art booth referring to my previous nativity painting. It made me think “WOW I love art. ONE COLOR can bring that much feeling to a viewer.” I’ve thought a lot on this since.
And now, I can’t stop painting Mary in red. here’s why.
❤️ Red: the spiritual color of sacrifice.
I think long before Christ suffered in Gethsemane, his mother suffered in a quiet nursery.
💔 She knew the pain of her little boy’s mission, yet all she could do was hold him. Rock him. While he was still under her protection.
In Luke 2 it says, “But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.”
Heavy. Lonely.
In humility she held her baby boy, keeping these things, and pondering them in her heart.
And in my mind, while holding his tiny little fingers and wondering how long she would be able to protect and hold him until she had to give him up to the world.
I wish I could watch her in those early years of mothering. I imagine her protecting Christ while she could. I imagine her praying for guidance on how to prepare him for his great mission.
And finally, I imagine her sacrificing along side Him & symbolically wearing red.
