A message from the artist:

“Redeeming” — this piece was created when someone messaged me expressing how much they loved my “light of his love” piece, they wanted to know if I could create a simple tattoo inspired by that piece. Instead of Jesus holding the hand of a child He is holding the hand of a woman.

After sketching out the tattoo, this piece struck some deeper meaning to me and I knew I wanted to make it into a print as well. just early that day I had read John 8 in the New Testament. I thought of the adulterous woman whom the Pharisees thought was to be stoned for her sins. But when they brought the woman to Jesus, he did not see her as an adulterous woman. He said to the Pharisees, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”

Jesus saw the woman with redeeming love. He offered mercy and forgiveness, allowing the woman to go forward and sin no more. I think that we live in a world lately that has a hard time understanding mercy and forgiveness and it has made me really reflect on the graciousness of our Savior and Heavenly Father.

To me, I feel like the simple line art stands for Christ’s redeeming love. When the accusers could only see the woman as an adulterer, Jesus saw so much more. He always sees us for our divine potential. He will always walk hand in and with us even when it feels like we are walking utterly alone.

He knows that we are bound to make mistakes and he always understands when we have pure intent to change and repent. He offers forgiveness and does not shame. He is our saving grace. His redeeming love is simple and eternal.
