A message by the artist:
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in
much trembling. (1 Corinthians 2:3)
The idea for this piece came as I listened to a mother
recall the experience of her son’s first few weeks of life
in an isolate and how painful it was for her to leave
him there day after day, not wanting him to be alone.
She then shared that she had a peace wash over her
that her son was never alone because Christ was
watching over him. Years later a friend came to visit
her and saw this piece hanging on her wall. Because
of this woman’s health and her baby’s health she was
never able to hold her son when he was alive and he
died in the incubator all alone – so she thought. For 26
years this idea haunted her and it hurt her too much to
look at old photos and memorabilia, until this piece
brought comfort and healing, knowing her son was
never, ever alone.
Therefore, continue your journey and let your hearts
rejoice; for behold, and lo, I am with you even unto the end.
(Doctrine and Covenants 100:12)
