two trunks reaching,
growing their own ways.
around them,
echoes of laughter—
light dancing through leaves.

now the weather is quieter,
but still, the branches remember—
how joy leans forward before letting go,
how love does not end,
it changes form.

the water waits below,
gifting new growth
through the seasons
of what we keep,
and what we must release.
