In the heart of bustling London, England, a young missionary named Elder Koby Butler embarked on a profound spiritual journey. He candidly shared, "Although I was sent to help others draw closer to Christ, the most profound conversion I experienced was my own."
Around six months into his mission, Koby found himself in a challenging period of adjustment to mission life. He was earnestly learning what it truly meant to follow in the footsteps of Christ. During this time, his mission leaders initiated a heartwarming project—a Christmas yearbook encompassing the talents of all the missionaries. They invited interested missionaries to contribute their skills, be it artwork, poetry, or any other creative expression, to be included in the yearbook.
Koby recalled, "I decided to give it a try and see what I could create." Despite not having dedicated much time to serious drawing in his life, he recognized the divine gift he possessed. With determination, Koby committed to participating in the yearbook, with a drawing that would capture the essence of the Savior.
As Koby's artistic representation of Christ took shape, he discovered that it wasn't just his artwork evolving. His own testimony and relationship with Christ were also undergoing a profound transformation. What stood out to Koby during this creative process was the profound and unwavering love and understanding that Jesus had for all of humanity.
"I aimed to convey that love through my artwork," Koby explained. "The only way I could think to achieve this was through His eyes."
The final masterpiece, titled "Saviour" with the English spelling of Savior, portrayed a compassionate Christ. One side of His face radiated boundless love for all of us, while the other side depicted the justice Christ willingly embraced on our behalf.
Koby concluded with heartfelt words about his artwork, saying, "This drawing has been an immense blessing in my life, and my hope is that it can bring the same blessings to others."

A message from the artist:
I served a mission for my church in London England. I spent two years sharing my love for Jesus Christ to everyone I could. When I was six months into my mission, there was an intense period where I was adjusting to a lot and learning what it truly meant to follow Christ. Our mission was putting together a Christmas yearbook for all the missionaries, and they requested that people submit their talents. The talents could've been anything, artwork, poetry, really anything that could go in the yearbook. I figured I would give it a shot and see what I could come up with. I hadn't spent much time seriously drawing up to this point, but I knew that I did have a talent for it. During the next month as I was drawing nearer to the Savior, my drawing of Him was coming along. I was developing a relationship with Him, and coming to understand the deep and perfect love that He has for us. This made me want to portray that love in my artwork in any way possible. The only way I could think to do that was through His eyes, or the "windows of the soul" as they've been called. I tried to capture those emotions I was experiencing during this time of my life and really let others know how it felt through this piece. This drawing has been a huge blessing in my life, and I hope that it can do the same for others.
