Story Behind the Art

The beauty of the Garden of Eden is on display in this artwork, with the Tree of Knowledge at the center. Peonies are the artist’s favorite flower, just like his maternal grandmother. These flowers are an homage to her. She died of Cancer when Joseph was just 7 years old and her memory lives on with this display.
